Join Artspace Curator, Talia Linz in conversation with artist Clare Milledge at 3pm, Saturday 18 March 2023, STATION Gallery Sydney.

Clare Milledge is a process-based artist and academic whose works shift across medium, from painting, textiles and sculpture, to costumes, video and performance. Through her research into the role of the ‘artist-shaman’ in contemporary ecologies, she explores how magic and the occult can be used to re-evaluate Westernised relationships to non-human forms, such as animals, nature and language. In 2022, Milledge presented a major installation, Imbás: A Well at the Bottom of the Sea, for rīvus, 23rd Biennale of Sydney.

Talia Linz is a curator with over 10 years’ experience collaborating on contemporary art exhibitions, new commissions, publications and multi-platform projects with Australian and international artists across generations. She has curated and co-curated more than 50 exhibitions and projects, and has written for and edited numerous catalogues, journals and artist monographs. She is currently Curator at Artspace, Sydney, and in 2022 was one of the curators for rīvus, 23rd Biennale of Sydney.
