Paula do Prado Selected for Major New AGNSW Co-Commission 

Now entering its third year, the ongoing partnership creates meaningful pathways for artists from the Artspace Studio Program to develop ambitious new commissions for presentation at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, supporting artists from studio practice through to major institutional exhibitions. 

For this exhibition, drawing on constellations and celestial mythologies of the Southern Hemisphere, Paula do Prado will create large-scale woven installations informed by Indigenous cosmologies, migration histories, and her Charrúa, Iberian and West African Bantu heritage. 

Developed collaboratively by curators across both institutions, the co-commission reflects a shared commitment to sustained artist development and long-term institutional partnership across Sydney’s cultural landscape.
