Angela Goh

Lives and works on Gadigal land in Sydney, Australia.

Angela Goh is a dancer and choreographer whose practice moves between gallery, museum and theatre contexts. Her work is interested in gesture, abstraction and the relationship between the human and non-human, using choreography and performance to explore the body, perception and forms of agency.

Her performances have been commissioned and presented by institutions in Australia including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney Opera House, National Gallery of Victoria and Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. International presentations include Leeum Museum of Art, Seoul; Haus der Kunst, Munich; Serralves Museum, Porto; Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo; Auto Italia, London; Museo Experimental El Eco, Mexico City; Taipei Performing Arts Center; and Performance Space New York, among others.

Goh has participated in major international exhibitions including the 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art. In 2024, her work Body Loss was acquired for the permanent collection of the University of Melbourne’s Art Museums, becoming the first work of dance to be collected by a museum in Australia.

She has held residencies at Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris; Shedhalle, Zurich; and Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia. Goh was awarded the Keir Choreographic Award in 2020, the Green Room Award for Most Outstanding Creation in 2023, the Create NSW Performing Arts Fellowship in 2019, and the inaugural Sydney Dance Company Fellowship in 2020–21.
